Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video trailer was released last week and it received an amazing response. Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the film stars Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri in the lead roles. The story is set in the 90s when a couple who films their intimate moments loses the video. As seen in the trailer, the narrative focusses on the comedy of their tragic situation and how they'll get their hands on it.

In an interview, the Dream Girl director was asked if his movie is inspired by or based on the Hollywood movie Sex Tape. The 2014 movie stars Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel in the lead roles. However, Raaj Shaandilyaa clarified that the Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri starrer is not based on any Hollywood movie. He revealed that someone asked him on Twitter if Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video is based on Diaz's movie. Raaj clarified that there is no sex in their movie.

The director was told by one of his writers about the Hollywood movie where a video goes viral on the internet. "The video in our film is made by the couple and they lose the CD because of their negligence," Raaj told PTI. Further in this entertainment news, the director stated that the characters and story in his upcoming movie are different and have nothing to do with Cameron Diaz's movie.

"I've not even seen Sex Tape. I didn't get inspired by it; rather, I got inspired by life and the people around me," said the director. In the same interview, Raaj revealed that they already have a sequel planned after the first movie ends. The second part will take place 10-15 years later, when the internet era has just started. "We've written the story. We will shoot this film after I make another film," Shaandilyaa revealed.

Meanwhile, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video also stars Vijay Raaz, Mallika Sherawat, Mast Ali, Mukesh Tiwari, Tiku Talsania, Ashwini Kalsekar, and several others. Produced by T-Series, Balaji Motion Pictures, Wakaao Films, and Kathavachak Films, it will hit theatres on October 11, 2024. It will clash with Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina's Jigra.
