There’s no doubt Donald Trump’s viral comments on Haitian migrants allegedly eating pets in Springfield, Ohio were controversial. 

City leaders in Springfield are pushing back and we may never get to the bottom of the situation. 

But that might not matter and here’s why. 

True, partly true, or not true at all, Trump’s comments on the Haitian migrant influx into that small Ohio town got people talking about an issue that may have otherwise gone under the radar. 

Whether the Haitian migrants are eating pets or not, there are roughly 20,000 of them in a town of 60,000. That makes an impact and from the commentary coming out of city council meetings, not a positive one.

Immigration consistently polls within the top 3 issues American voters care about.

Trump got the country talking about it, debating it, and acknowledging it. 

Any way you slice it, that’s a win for Donald Trump. 

He might not always have the best delivery, but his impact cannot be ignored!
