What's hot?

The whodunit murder mysteries always grab attention especially when the execution is done well. The Buckingham Murders is one of them. Hansal Mehta is an ace storyteller and once again, he has created a gripping film that has many layers to captivate the attention of the audience. It showcases the communal tension between communities over a cricket match and then a murder. It also touches upon the issues faced by the LGBTQ community and drug abuse among teenagers. Many parallel stories including an extra marital affair are intertwined with one murder that puts the small, sleepy town in a state of shock. Kareena Kapoor Khan as Jass has sure put forth a nuanced act of a grieving mother who is finding it difficult to let go. Sadness, grief, and frustration built inside is rightly emoted. It won't be wrong to say that Kareena's performance in The Buckingham Murders is among the best so far. The supporting cast like Ranveer Brar and others have done a decent job. The story is the hero in the detective drama and it will keep you at the edge of your seat. The climax does come as a shocker. There is an unnerving silence that flows through every scene leaving the audience with a disturbing feeling; with the background score adding the chills. Given that it is a murder mystery, that serves right to the genre.

What's not?

The Buckingham Murders makes for an interesting watch but we wish the built up to the suspense and climax was a little more crisper. It is worth watching it in the theatres this Friday.
