Malaika Arora and Amrita Arora lost their father yesterday. Their father, Anil Mehta passed away yesterday. He reportedly committed suicide. Anil Mehta reportedly jumped off the sixth floor of his building. The investigation is done whether it is a suicide or accident or if there is any foul play. The body was sent for post mortem yesterday at Cooper Postmortem Center in Mumbai at 8 pm. In the preliminary report of the post-mortem, the cause of death has been stated as injury.

Celebrities like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Terrance Lewis and others were there to be with Malaika and Amrita yesterday. Malaika Arora's ex-husband, Arbaaz Khan and his family, Sohail Khan, Salim Khan, Salma Khan, veteran actress Helen were also there to stand by her. Even today for the funeral in Santacruz, the entire Khan family was present.

She wrote, "We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear father Anil Mehta. He was a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband and our best friend. Our family is in deep shock by this loss and we kindly request privacy from the media and well-wishes during this difficult time. We appreciate your understanding, support and respect. With gratitude, Joyce, Malaika, Amrita, Shakeel, Arhaan, Azaan, Rayaan, Casper, AXL, Duffy and Buddy."
