Armenia to impose fines of 50,000-500,000 drams for disclosure of information constituting a state secret

YEREVAN, September 10. /ARКА/. The Armenian parliament approved in the first reading a bill proposed by the National Security Service, which provides for administrative punishment for improper storage or disclosure of information constituting a state secret.nbsp;/pp

Deputy Head of the National Security Service Andranik Simonyan noted that the bill is aimed at increasing the level of secrecy of information, as well as preventing possible violations and eliminating possible leaks of information.nbsp;/pp

According to the current legislation, liability is provided only for disclosure of information containing a state secret, but the amendments provide for the introduction of liability for violating the rules for storing, transferring, and destroying classified information./pp

In case of violation, a fine of 50,000 to 500,000 drams is envisaged. ($1 - 387.22 drams) -0-./p
