Lasting and enduring peace real in South Caucasus - Nikol Pashinyan
ArmInfo.Armenia proposes that Azerbaijan sign a peace treaty on the part of the agreed text, and transfer the remaining issues to the negotiating table. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on September 10 during the Yerevan Dialogue forum, noting that the agreed part of the peace treaty text includes a mechanism providing for continued discussions on the remaining issues.
In this vein, he recalled that out of 16 points of the peace treaty, 13 were fully approved by the parties, and, accordingly, 3 were partially approved. At the same time, the prime minister drew attention to the fact that the agreed part speaks of the approval of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which the Armenian side has officially and publicly stated.
"It is clear that there is no agreement that will resolve all issues. Even if the agreement contains 20, 30, 40, 50 and 100 points. There will still be 200-300 issues that will remain unresolved. There are no countries whose relations are regulated by one agreement>, Pashinyan said.
In conclusion, the Prime Minister expressed hope that the signing of a peace treaty on the agreed part will take place in the near future, which will allow for further negotiations to resolve the remaining issues.
At the same time, when asked , Pashinyan noted that peace is not only possible, but also real.
