Karan Johar feels like a 'proud Papa' seeing Janhvi Kapoor in Devara, talks about his legacy friendship with Saif Ali Khan and their kids

The trailer for Devara Part 1 was launched today in Mumbai, marking one of the biggest releases of 2024. With Janhvi Kapoor making her Telugu debut and Saif Ali Khan playing the villain Bhaira, the film has generated significant buzz. Directed by Siva Koratala, movie is slated to release in theatres on September 27, 2024.

At the trailer launch, Karan Johar was full of praise for the stars. He is the distributor of the Telugu action thriller in the northern region with Dharma Productions. Speaking about Jr NTR, Karan said, "This is an exceptional moment for us at Dharma Productions, presenting Devara, and seeing Tarak (Jr NTR) and Siva's vision literally come to life you haven't seen anything yet. Taarak was very graceful when he presented Brahmastra Part 1 in Hyderabad. It was a big moment for us. Such a massive megastar, going out of his way to speak of another film, and he really impacted the box office of Brahmastra, even in the South."

The Kal Ho Naa Ho producer also expressed his deep admiration for Saif Ali Khan, "Saif, my darling Saif, who I love and adore, not just as a filmmaker but as a friend, family, everything... just our kids playing with each other fills my heart full of love. The fact that Yash and Taimur are BFFs in school means the world to me. This is just a legacy friendship that will go on. Saif is exceptional in the film. You will realise this very soon."

About Janhvi Kapoor, Karan fondly remarked, "What do I say about my child, literally beaming in gold, looking absolutely as gorgeous as ever. I still remember the moment Tarak and I spoke about casting Janhvi in Devara, and for me, I felt like a proud Papa when she started performing. And look at that, my god! Matching step with Tarak is no mean task. Let me tell you, she really gave it her absolute best."

Further in this entertainment news, Janhvi Kapoor said that working in the Telugu film felt like a "gharwapsi" (homecoming) for her. She is quite excited to know what the audience thinks of her performance and Devara Part 1 movie.
