Parliamentary majority rejects bill by opposition MP
ArmInfo. On September 9, the first meeting of the 8th session of the National Assembly of Armenia of the 8th convocation opened with the parliamentary majority rejecting the bill submitted by opposition MP of the Hayastan faction Gegham Nazaryan .
The bill, which proposes to establish guarantees for family members of servicemen killed in the defense of the Republic of Armenia, the conditions and procedure for providing them, as well as sources of financing, received a negative conclusion from the NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security on September 6. As Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Issues David Khachatryan stated at the time, the justification for the draft does not include the need to adopt a legal act, the current situation and problems, the policy implemented in this area, the purpose, nature and expected result of the regulation, in connection with which the government proposes to refrain from adopting the draft.
As Nazaryan pointed out, legal relations in this area, concerning guarantees and benefits for family members of deceased servicemen, are still regulated by separate articles of various laws, decrees of the government, ministries and local governments. Due to their large number and , both beneficiaries and executors are lost in them. There are even decisions that were adopted by the government and then successfully forgotten, he added. In this vein, he proposes to unite all existing legal norms, to adopt one - the main legal act regulating all necessary aspects.
