In Bollywood, it's a dream for many actors to work with some of the industry's biggest directors, and Karan Johar is definitely one of them. As a director, he has given audiences unforgettable love stories, and as a producer, Karan always tries to bring interesting and engaging content to the screen. But sometimes things don't go as planned, and not all collaborations work out. Recently, an actress opened up about what might have gone wrong between her and Karan Johar, revealing why she hasn't been cast in a Dharma Productions film after their previous collaborations.

The actress is Himani Shivpuri, known for her roles in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Himani shared that she suspects she may have upset Karan during their time together on set. While working on Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, she mentioned how Karan approached her on the last day of shooting and told her, "It was a pleasure working with you, Himani ji. You are my lucky mascot!"

Himani laughed and replied with a request, asking Karan to cast her in a good role next time. While the director agreed and promised he would, things didn't quite go as expected. When she later heard from Nikkhil Advani that Kal Ho Naa Ho was being planned, she was excited about being part of it. However, after meeting Nikkhil, she learnt there was no role for her in the film. "I didn't understand what was happening," Himani recalled, adding that she hadn't received any offers from Dharma Productions since then.

Curious about what went wrong, Himani later asked Karan Johar directly at an awards show. She explained, "I asked Karan why I wasn't cast in Kal Ho Naa Ho, and he simply said, 'No, no Himani ji, that role wasn't good enough for you. Aapke layak role hoga na tab bulayege aapko (If there is something that is good enough for you, we will call you). Then it struck me, ki meri baat shayad lag gayi (that what I told him, he got offended). That's where the chapter ended. I do feel bad; it used to be a lot of fun. We would gossip a lot and were good pals. Maybe we didn't meet so often that we could break the ice."

It was then that Himani realised her earlier comment might have offended him. She said, "Perhaps my words hurt him unintentionally. After that, I never got another chance to work with him."
