In its third week of release, the Amar Kaushik-directed horror comedy Stree 2 has maintained a remarkable box office performance. This sequel to the 2018 hit Stree has earned praise from both critics and audiences for its unique mix of humour and horror, along with its strong performances. The film stars Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Pankaj Tripathi, and Abhishek Banerjee, all of whom have been applauded for their roles in the movie.

Released on August 15, Stree 2 has broken several box office records, especially in its third week. It has surpassed the third-week earnings of popular films like Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan, Ranbir Kapoor's Animal, and even Prabhas' Baahubali 2 in Hindi. With an impressive third-week collection of Rs 70.20 crore nett, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's film has set a new benchmark for Hindi films, proving to be a massive success. As reported by India Today, the third week collection of Jawan was Rs 52.06 crores, Animal was Rs 50.30 crores, Baahubali 2 was Rs 69-75 crores, and Gadar 2 was Rs 63.35 crores.

As reported by several entertainment news portals, Stree 2 became the second-fastest Hindi film to reach Rs 500 crore in just 22 days, following Jawan, which achieved the same milestone in 18 days. As of now, the film is on track to potentially become the biggest Hindi film of all time, aiming to surpass the lifetime collections of Pathaan (Rs 543.09 crore net) and Animal (Rs 553.87 crore). If it continues at this pace, the Amar Kaushik directorial could even overtake Atlee's Jawan in terms of overall box office collections. Kangana Ranaut's Emergency was supposed to release this week. However, the movie is now postponed. So with no major competition in sight, Stree 2 has a clear path to further success in the coming weeks.

In an interview with BollywoodLife, writer Niren Bhatt shared his reaction to the film's unexpected success. Niren expressed that neither he nor the team had anticipated such a massive response. He explained that while they were hopeful for positive reviews, the overwhelming love from the audience was a surprise.
