EDB inaugurates branded auditorium and PPP programme at RAU

The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) continues the implementation of the technical assistance project on the development of public-private partnership (PPP) institutional environment and PPP competences building in the Republic of Armenia in partnership with the Russian-Armenian University (RAU), the bank's press release said./pp/pp

Within the framework of the ce project, an EDB-branded PPP auditorium was equipped and fitted out with the latest technologies at RAU. It is in this auditorium that classes will be held on the PPP educational programme, specially developed within the project in accordance with international standards and PPP market requirements.nbsp;/pp

Also, the results of the competition for the ‘EDB PPP Scholarship’ were summarised, the aim of which is to financially support talented students of RAU, who are interested in participating in research and expanding PPP practice in the Republic of Armenia and the EAEU.nbsp;/pp

The opening of the EDB PPP Branded Auditorium and the awarding of EDB PPP scholarships are important steps in the implementation of the technical assistance project, which significantly increase the interest in PPPs among future professionals in the financial and management sector of the Republic of Armenia. EDB has an impressive practical experience in financing PPP projects. Therefore, in addition to creating conditions for the formation of PPP knowledge and competencies, the Bank seeks to ensure its expert representation in PPP educational programmes, to pass on this experience and share best practices with students and teachers of RAU,’ said EDB PPP Project Director Svetlana Maslova.nbsp;/pp

Mariam Voskanyan, Head of the RAU Department of Economics and Finance, EDB PPP Project Coordinator, in her turn, informed that this year the Department of Economics and Finance together with EDB is implementing a large project./pp

During this year we managed to realise most of the set goals, including the opening of the EDB PPP class, as well as the establishment of the EDB PPP scholarship. From September this year, the PPP discipline will start to be taught at the undergraduate and graduate level in economics and finance. Finally, the country review on PPPs in Armenia, which we are preparing together with EDB colleagues, is in its final stage,’ Voskanyan shared.nbsp;/pp
