Border 2 update: Diljit Dosanjh official joins Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan starrer; gets welcomed to the Battalion with a thrilling teaser [WATCH]

The epic war drama Border is set to get its sequel. The film that starred Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Akshaye Khanna and others released in 1997. Directed by JP Dutta, the movie was a massive hit back then. Years after its release, Border 2 has been announced. Anurag Singh would be the one directing it. However, there is a new cast. While Sunny Deol will return to Border 2, some stars from latest generation have been cast for Border 2. After Varun Dhawan, it is Diljit Dosanjh who has come onboard.

Sunny Deol on his social media handle shared a thrilling video with Diljit Dosanjh's voiceover and welcomed to the battalion. Diljit has been referred to as 'Fauji' in Sunny Deol's post. Diljit also shared the video and wrote, "Pehli Goli Dushman Chalaega aur Akhri Goli Hum! Honoured to stand with such a powerful team and walk in the footsteps of our Soldiers!" The voice over has Diljit talking about protecting and sacrificing for the country. Fans are quite thrilled with Diljit joining the Border 2 cast. One of the comments on the post read, "Now this gonna be wild."

Talking about Border 2, JP Dutta in one of the interviews with entertainment news portal Etimes, revealed that the film will based on 1971 India-Pakistan war. He also promised that Border 2 will have chest-thumping patriotism and will celebrate the valour of the soldiers with same sensibilities as they did with the previous film. With Sunny Deol's return in Gadar 2 and it turning out to be a massive hit, it is anticipated that Border 2 will receive the same reception at the box office.
