Goat day 1 box office collection: Thalapathy Vijay starrer fails to break his own record of Leo first day; earns THIS much in India
Thalapathy Vijay starrer GOAT (Greatest of All Time) has been the favourite of the audience. A lot of people have been praising the movie and it was a highly anticipated movie. It also got some negative responses as well. Everyone was waiting for it since a long time. The film released in the theatres on September 5 and from the love it has been getting, it is clear that the film will be a big hit. In the movie, we see Thalapathy Vijay in dual roles: as Gandhi, a Special Anti-Terrorist Squad (SATS) member, and Jeevan, his son. The story is about Gandhi's family life and his surprising decision to leave SATS for a safer career. The first day box office performance of the movie has been good.
The film has earned Rs 43 crore at the domestic box office on its first day. As per entertainment news portal Sacnilk, he big share in this comes from the Tamil shows, which raked in Rs 38.3 crore. Later, it was the Telugu shows and then Hindi shows. Both getting Rs 3 crore and Rs 1.7 crore respectively. This is a big achievement as the Hindi shows has not been released in national multiplex chains PVR, Inox and Cinepolis.
The film could not release in national multiplex chains because the makers failed to adhere to the theatrical guidelines. The makers of all new Hindi movies will have to maintain an eight week gap between the theatrical release and the premiere on OTT platforms.

However, Thalapathy Vijay's film could not break the records of his own film, Leo. Leo made Rs 64.8 crore on its day 1 at the domestic box office. Talking about the movie, the film is directed by Venkat Prabhu and it also stars Prabhu Deva, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prasanth, and Premgi Amaren.
