YEREVAN, September 4. /ARKA/. Suren Tovmasyan, the head of Armenia's Cadastre Committee, presented a new proposal at a meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Economic Affairs. The proposal aims to exempt citizens from fines due to errors made by the Cadastre Committee during the digitization of cadastral data./pp
Tovmasyan explained that these errors led to instances where citizens paid less property tax than required. Under the current legislation, citizens are not only obliged to pay the outstanding taxes for all the affected years but also face fines and penalties for the entire period./pp
The proposed project seeks to relieve citizens from paying fines and penalties that have accumulated due to mistakes made by the Cadastre itself. However, Tovmasyan clarified that citizens who did not pay taxes during these years will still be fined./pp br/p
