Exterior Design Details
MG has teased the exterior of the Windsor EV, revealing glimpses of the front and rear fascias and the alloy wheels that will feature in the production model. The design, referred to as ‘AeroGlide,’ showcases connected LED DRLs and LED headlights at the front, while the rear features connected LED tail lights. The alloy wheels, measuring 18 inches, appear similar to those of the Indonesian-spec Wuling Cloud EV.
Innovative ‘AeroGlide’ Design
The AeroGlide design seamlessly integrates advanced aerodynamics with refined craftsmanship, promising to enhance both comfort and driving dynamics. Inspired by the sophistication of business class travel, it aims to deliver a smooth and luxurious ride with aerodynamic features that contribute to both efficient performance and an elevated commuting experience.
Spacious and Versatile
The Windsor is built on a dedicated EV platform, offering a long wheelbase that provides a spacious cabin. Its higher ground clearance adds to its versatility, making it suitable for various road conditions and everyday use. Drawing design inspiration from Windsor Castle in the UK, the MG Windsor reflects meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
Advanced Technology and Features
The MG Windsor EV will feature a 15.6-inch Grandview Touch Display, the largest infotainment touchscreen in its segment. This display will manage various functions, including HVAC controls, and support features like range and battery status indicators, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and connected car technology with the JioSaavn app.
Comfort and Amenities
The vehicle will also include premium features such as a 360-degree camera, blind spot monitor, automatic climate control, ambient lighting, a fully digital color instrument cluster, and faux wooden dashboard inserts. Additional amenities include a panoramic sunroof, Aero-Lounge rear seats that recline up to 135 degrees, power-adjustable front seats, a powered tailgate, wireless phone charging, and advanced connected car technology.
Performance and Competition
Globally, Windsor EV is offered in two battery options: 37.9kWh and 50.6kWh. Each configuration is paired with a single electric motor, providing a claimed range of 360 km and 460 km on a full charge, respectively. Once launched, the Windsor EV will compete with models like the BYD Atto 3, Tata Nexon EV, Mahindra XUV400 EV, and MG ZE HEV.
