Yerevan proposes Baku to sign a peace treaty based on the agreed  points of the draft

ArmInfo. On August 30, Armenia sent Azerbaijan a new proposal within the framework of the draft peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a press conference in Yerevan on August 31.

"Yesterday, we presented our proposal to official Baku. Objectively, they haven't had had enough time to fully familiarize themselves with the essence of our proposal.  And the essence of our proposal is that the latest version of the peace treaty consists of 17 articles, 13 of which have been fully agreed upon, including the preface. The wording of three more articles has mostly been agreed upon. Our proposal is to finalize the agreed articles and sign a peace treaty on this basis.  We believe this is possible, since all the main principles of the treaty are agreed upon in these articles. In essence, it is impossible to agree on all the existing problems at once. We propose signing and ratifying what has already been agreed upon, and continuing discussions on the rest," Pashinyan clarified.

He also reported that the previously agreed-upon points include a mechanism that allows for discussing any issues related to the implementation of the peace treaty, such as the opening of regional communications, on a permanent platform. The Armenian Prime Minister also did not rule out the possibility that diplomatic relations will be established between Yerevan and Baku after the signing of this treaty, providing an additional platform for discussing all existing issues.
