Triumph Daytona 660 Debuts in India at ₹9.72 Lakh: The Evolution of a Legend

0

Triumph has officially introduced the Daytona 660 in India, with a starting price of ₹9,72,450 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Daytona 660 builds on the same platform as the Triumph Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660, promising a thrilling new chapter in the middleweight sports bike segment.

Performance and Agility

Powered by a 660cc triple engine, the Daytona 660 delivers 95PS at 11,250rpm and 69Nm of torque, with over 80% of that torque available from just 3,125rpm. The bike’s six-speed gearbox, combined with Triumph’s Torque Assist clutch, ensures smooth gear shifts and enhanced control. An optional Shift Assist feature enables clutch-less up and down shifts for a seamless riding experience.

The lightweight sports frame, paired with Showa 41mm upside-down front forks and a Showa rear suspension unit, offers agile and responsive handling. The Daytona 660 comes equipped with Michelin Power 6 tires and a powerful braking system featuring twin 310mm discs, four-piston radial calipers, and ABS for excellent stopping power.

Advanced Technology

The Daytona 660 features three riding modes—Sport, Road, and Rain—enabled by a ride-by-wire throttle system. The color TFT screen integrated with a sleek LCD display provides clear rider information, and the optional My Triumph Connectivity System offers turn-by-turn navigation, phone, and music control.

Comfort and Customization

Designed for both dynamic sports riding and long-distance comfort, the Daytona 660 has a balanced riding position with clip-on handlebars and adjustable rear suspension. The bike’s 810mm seat height, with an optional low seat available, makes it accessible for riders of all sizes.

Triumph offers over 30 Genuine Accessories, including heated grips, a USB socket, and a TPMS, allowing riders to personalize their Daytona 660. Security features like the Triumph Protect+ alarm system and Triumph Track+ tracker provide added peace of mind.

Bookings for the Triumph Daytona 660 began in January. It competes with established models such as the Kawasaki Ninja 650 and Aprilia RS 660, and will also face rivals like the upcoming Honda CBR650R and Suzuki GSX-8R.
