Ducati Multistrada V4 RS Teased Ahead of Imminent India Launch

0

Ducati India has heightened anticipation by teasing the highly awaited Multistrada V4 RS on its social media channels, signaling that its official debut in India is just around the corner.

The Multistrada V4 RS, unveiled globally last year, represents the high-performance variant of the renowned adventure tourer. The “RS” badge draws inspiration from Audi’s performance line, underscoring Ducati’s commitment to delivering top-tier riding experiences. Notably, this teaser follows more than two months after the model’s listing on the official Indian website.

At the heart of the Ducati Multistrada V4 RS lies a 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine, shared with the Panigale V4 and Streetfighter V4. This liquid-cooled powerhouse churns out an impressive 177 bhp at 12,250 rpm and a peak torque of 118 Nm at 9,500 rpm, positioning the Multistrada V4 RS as the most powerful adventure bike in its class. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox featuring Ducati’s STM Evo-SBK dry clutch, accompanied by a bi-directional quick-shifter for seamless gear transitions. With a dry weight of 211 kg—3 kg lighter than the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak—the V4 RS is built for agility and performance.

The chassis of the Multistrada V4 RS has been engineered for enhanced durability and reduced weight. It features a titanium rear sub-frame, which is claimed to be 2.5 kg lighter than the standard version found on other Multistrada V4 models. The main frame utilizes Ducati’s signature aluminum monocoque design, contributing to the overall lightness of the bike, making it the lightest fourth-generation Multistrada ever produced.

Ducati’s weight reduction strategy extends beyond the frame. The Multistrada V4 RS is equipped with 17-inch Marchesini forged aluminum wheels, shedding additional pounds, and the bulky pillion grab handle and top box mounting bracket have been omitted to further enhance the bike’s lightweight credentials.

In terms of technology, the Multistrada V4 RS is outfitted with an array of advanced rider aids. These include engine brake control, wheelie control, traction control, switchable ABS, and four selectable power modes: Full, High, Medium, and Low, allowing riders to customize their experience based on road conditions and personal preference.

While the official pricing for the Ducati Multistrada V4 RS has yet to be announced, it is expected to be positioned between Rs. 30-36 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon its launch, it will square off against the BMW M 1000 XR in the fiercely competitive high-performance adventure touring segment.
