Bus lanes only right way - Yerevan mayor 

ArmInfo.According to preliminary plans, in September the Yerevan Municipality intends to  complete the work on equipping Isahakyan and Moskovyan streets with separate bus lanes, which will continue along Mashtots Avenue. This was stated on August 26 during a working meeting of the Yerevan  Municipality by the head of the transport department of the capital's municipality Vazgen Harutyunyan.

As a result of the changes, as he noted, traffic along Moskovyan and  Isahakyan streets will become one- way. In particular, along  Moskovyan Street, traffic will be organized from Mashtots Avenue in  the direction of Khanjyan Street, and along Isahakyan Street - in the  opposite direction.

In this regard, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan emphasized that the  introduction of separate bus lanes for the capital's roads is the  only right way. , - he said, noting that there is no alternative to this  reform.

As noted, the process of implementing the reform will be monitored by  partners from the French region of Ile-de-France, who will be in the  Armenian capital on a working visit in September.

It was also reported at the meeting that 171 new buses and 15  trolleybuses will arrive in Yerevan by the end of October. Regarding  the unified ticket system, Yerevan Vice Mayor Suren Grigoryan noted  that the latter is in the acceptance stage, which will be completed  by September 15. By the same date, according to him, a new example of  a bus stop will be presented.
