Nani regrets his 'choice of words' against Arshad Warsi over his harsh 'Joker' comment on Prabhas

Kalki 2898 AD, one of the biggest movies of the year, is directed by Nag Ashwin and features Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan. The film has mostly received positive reviews. Recently, actor Arshad Warsi shared his thoughts on a podcast, where he praised Amitabh Bachchan's performance but criticised Prabhas, saying he looked like a 'joker' in the film. Warsi's comments led to mixed reactions on social media. Some people criticised him, while others supported his views. Actor Nani also slammed the Munna Bhai MBBS star.

Nani initially responded by saying, 'This must be the most publicity he has gotten in his life.' However, he has since expressed regret over his reaction. In an interview with entertainment news portal Mid Day, Nani mentioned that his reaction was due to translation issues. The Telugu star said he had only seen clips of Arshad Warsi's remarks online and reacted emotionally because of his fondness for Prabhas. Nani realized that the media and social media had exaggerated the situation after seeing the full interview.

Nani acknowledged that both he and Arshad Warsi could have chosen their words more carefully. He praised Warsi as a talented actor and mentioned how everyone in the North and South loves him for his role in Munna Bhai. The actor stated that, as actors, they must exercise caution in their word choice, referring to himself and the Asur actor as victims. However, the Telugu star acknowledged that his word choice was also inadequate and expressed regret for his previous statements. "Also, who are we to correct? But somebody asked us about our opinion, and we reacted to it," said the Jersey actor.

On social media, fans are digging old clips of when South directors and actors also made negative remarks on several Bollywood stars. So far, Prabhas or anyone from the Kalki 2898 AD movie has not reacted to Arshad Warsi's remarks. Even the actor himself has not said anything about the negative reaction his views on the movie have received. Arshad's upcoming projects include Welcome to the Jungle and Jolly LLB 3. On the other hand, the Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, and Deepika Padukone starrer has started streaming on Netflix this week.
