YEREVAN, August 22. /ARKA/. The Vedi Reservoir project, valued at €90 million, is set to be completed this year, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced on Thursday./pp

The reservoir will have a capacity of 29 million cubic meters and will enable the irrigation of over 3,220 hectares of farmland, Pashinyan shared on Facebook./pp

Located on the right bank of the Vedi River in Armenia's Ararat Province, the 29.4 million cubic meter reservoir is primarily funded by the French Development Agency, covering more than 80% of the project cost./pp

Once operational, the reservoir will provide reliable irrigation for around 3,220 hectares, benefiting 5,000 farmers. The transition from mechanical to gravity-fed irrigation is expected to save approximately 19 million kWh of electricity annually, while reducing the need for water extraction from Lake Sevan by 18 million cubic meters./pp br/p
