MG Windsor Teased Ahead of Launch: Panoramic Glass Roof and More

0

MG Motor India has once again unveiled details about its upcoming electric CUV, the Windsor, ahead of its official launch on September 11. The latest teaser reveals that the Windsor will feature a panoramic glass roof, a unique feature compared to the panoramic sunroofs commonly found in many mass-market cars in India. Notably, this glass roof is a fixed unit and cannot be opened like a traditional sunroof. Interestingly, even the Wuling EV, on which the Windsor is based, does not offer this feature.

Previous teasers have revealed additional features of the Windsor, including reclining rear seats (Aero-Lounge seats), a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8.8-inch digital instruments display, power-adjustable front seats, a powered tailgate, 360-degree camera, wireless phone charging, a six-speaker audio system, and connected car technology. Safety features will include four airbags, electronic stability control, disc brakes on all four wheels, hill hold assist, and ADAS.

While MG has not disclosed specific details about the electric motor and battery options for the Indian market, the Windsor is available with two battery options internationally: a 37.9 kWh battery with a range of 360 km and a 50.6 kWh battery with a range of 460 km. Charging time varies depending on the charger type: a regular AC charger takes over 7 hours to fully charge, while a DC fast charger can achieve 80% charge in approximately 30 minutes.
