Commisso reportedly halts Gonzalez departure to avoid aiding Juventus

Commisso Fiorentina, the president of the Viola, has momentarily halted the sale of Nico Gonzalez, revealing the reason behind the suspension of negotiations.

Juventus yesterday offered Fiorentina €30 million for Nico Gonzalez. The proposal made the Viola reconsider, but Commisso has frozen the deal.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the president “does not intend to facilitate the eternal black-and-white enemy.”

This development suggests that Commisso is reluctant to strengthen a direct rival in Serie A, at least for now.
