John Abraham recently expressed his strong reactions to celebrities in the film industry who endorse gutka and paan masala products. These commercials don't receive a positive reaction in general. The controversy around these endorsements has long been a topic of debate among fans, especially since top stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Ajay Devgn have appeared in advertisements for these substances. In response to public criticism, Akshay even distanced himself from such brand endorsements and apologised to his fans.

During his appearance on Ranveer Allahbadia's podcast, John expressed his frustration with the contradiction between actors who talk about health and fitness while promoting harmful products like paan masala. The Dhoom star made it clear that he would never want to be associated with "selling death" and stressed the importance of leading by example. John believes that if he were not genuine in his actions, he would not want to be a role model. He stressed the importance of being truthful in all aspects of life, warning that if someone tries to be fake, people will figure it out.

John Abraham also clarified that he wasn't criticising his fellow actors, whom he holds in high regard. His comments were a reflection of his personal values. The actor made it clear that he has chosen not to support these brands, as endorsing such products means selling death to people. The Satyameva Jayate 2 actor mentioned that the year-over-year turnover for the paan masala industry is Rs 45,000 crore. John stated that, as the government is also supporting it, that's why it isn't illegal.

The actor also questioned those who are endorsing such brands and how they're often sold as mouth-fresheners. "You're selling death. How can you live with it?" the Batla House actor asked.
