Lamborghini Drops Teaser for Huracan Successor, Promises Insane Engine
Lamborghini has dropped a tantalizing teaser of its upcoming Huracan successor, hinting at a mind-boggling engine redline. The Italian automaker will officially unveil the new supercar on August 16 during Monterey Car Week.
While previous generations of Lamborghini’s iconic models, the Gallardo and Huracan, relied on naturally aspirated V10 engines, the successor will adopt a twin-turbocharged V8. This engine is already set to push boundaries with a 789 horsepower output and a 10,000 rpm redline. However, Lamborghini’s latest teaser suggests that the engine may rev even higher, shattering expectations for a production car.
Coupled with a hybrid system and advanced technology, the Huracan successor promises to be a formidable force. Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann says the vehicle will offer a combined power output of more than 876bhp (900CV), positioning the new model as a potent yet slightly less extreme alternative to the flagship Revuelto.
Design cues gleaned from spy shots suggest a sleeker profile with distinctive lighting elements, including hexagonal LED DRLs and a redesigned rear end. The internal codename ‘634’ and the rumored name ‘Temerario’ add to the anticipation surrounding this highly anticipated supercar.
Lamborghini’s commitment to electrification is evident, with the Huracan successor joining the Revuelto and Urus SE as plug-in hybrid models. The company’s roadmap also includes fully electric vehicles, such as the Lanzador and the next-generation Urus.
