YEREVAN, 7 August. /ARKA/. Some 13,211 deaths were reported in Armenia in January-June 2024, which is 5.9% more than in the same period of 2023, the National Statistical Committee (NSC) reported./pp

More than half of the deaths (54.3% or 7,168) were caused by diseases of the circulatory system, 6.5% more than in the same time span of 2023./pp

The second most widespread cause of deaths was cancer (19.5% or 2,581, an increase of 2.3%)./pp

Other causes of death were respiratory diseases (9.7% or 1,284, up 10.4%), digestive diseases (5.2% or 690, up 16%), accidents and poisonings (3.9% or 509, up 7.4%) and endocrine system diseases (1.9% or 243, up 10.5%). -0-/pp nbsp;/p
