Maserati Quattroporte: A V8 Farewell

0

Italian luxury automaker Maserati is bidding farewell to an iconic chapter in its history with the Quattroporte Grand Finale. Introduced in 1963, the Quattroporte has been a cornerstone of Maserati’s lineup for six generations. However, the upcoming model will mark the end of the road for both the Quattroporte nameplate and its legendary V8 engine.

A Bespoke Tribute

To commemorate this momentous occasion, Maserati’s bespoke customization program, Fuoriserie, has crafted a truly exceptional version of the Quattroporte. Dubbed the ‘Grand Finale’, this limited-edition model boasts a striking Blue Nobile exterior adorned with carbon fiber accents and brushed aluminum brake calipers. The interior is equally opulent, featuring tan leather, carbon fiber trim, and unique ‘Grand Finale’ badging.

The Heart

Powering the Quattroporte Grand Finale is Maserati’s revered 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine signed by the Fuoriserie team and the engineers who worked on the vehicle, tuned to deliver 572 horsepower and 730 Nm of torque. This engine, a masterpiece of engineering shared with Ferrari, will soon be a relic of the past as Maserati transitions to an electrified future. The Quattroporte Grand Finale, therefore, represents the ultimate expression of this iconic powertrain.

The Future is Electric

Maserati has confirmed its commitment to electrification with the company’s Folgore BEV program already in full swing, with electric versions of the GranTurismo, GranCabrio, and Grecale on the horizon. While the Quattroporte and Levante will also receive electric successors, their arrival is not expected until 2028 at the earliest.
