Citroen’s C3 and C3 Aircross to Get a Significant Upgrade

0

Citroen India has introduced significant updates to its popular C3 hatchback and C3 Aircross SUV. The refreshed models boast a range of new features, bringing them in line with the recently unveiled Citroen Basalt coupe SUV. While the exterior design remains largely unchanged, the interior and feature list have received a substantial boost.

Exterior Tweaks

Both the C3 and C3 Aircross now sport LED projector headlamps, replacing the previous halogen units. The addition of integrated turn indicators to the ORVMs and a new Citroen badge on the front fenders adds a touch of modernity. To enhance practicality, Citroen has included a rear windshield wiper with a washer.

Enhanced Interior and Features

The interior of the C3 benefits the most from the update. A new 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster replaces the analog unit, while automatic climate control adds to convenience. Both the C3 and C3 Aircross now feature auto AC, and the power window controls have been relocated to the door pads. However, a push-button start/stop function is still absent.

Safety has been prioritized with the inclusion of six airbags across both models. Other features like the 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless smartphone connectivity, steering-mounted controls, and height-adjustable driver’s seat are carried over. The C3 Aircross retains its practical roof-mounted AC vents for rear passengers.

Powertrain Options

The C3 continues to offer a choice of two engines: a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol producing 110 PS and 190 Nm paired with a 6-speed manual, and a naturally aspirated 1.2-liter unit generating 82 PS and 115 Nm mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The C3 Aircross is exclusively powered by a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine delivering 110 PS and up to 205 Nm, available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Pricing and Launch

Citroen is set to launch the updated C3 and C3 Aircross in the coming week, with the models gaining several new features. While official pricing hasn’t been announced, a slight price hike is expected due to the added equipment. The current price range for the C3 is Rs 6.16 lakh to Rs 9 lakh, while the C3 Aircross is priced between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 14.11 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).
