ArmInfo. Azerbaijan has destroyed the Artsakh village of Mokhrenes in the Hadrut region, which has been occupied since October 2020. This was reported by the independent academic platform MONUMENT WATCH.

According to satellite images, the Azerbaijani side destroyed most of the village houses, a school, a kindergarten, etc. Back in 2022,

Azerbaijan destroyed the Surb Sarkis Church in Mokhrenes.

In total, more than 20 monuments have been registered in the village of Mokhrenes, and the famous monastery (5th-6th centuries) is located near the village. As a result of the destructive actions, monuments located in the vicinity of the village are under threat.

The destruction of the village during the war and throughout the occupation by Azerbaijan constitutes a series of crimes that violate both international norms for the preservation of heritage during war, the principles of authenticity and/or integrity established by UNESCO, and the decisions of the International Court, the platform said in a statement.
