A suspect is currently being sought in connection with the murder ofa member of the Sevan Council ofElders

ArmInfo. The Investigative Committee of Armenia is currently conducting a preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on the fact of hooliganism and murder of Arsen Afian, a member of the Sevan Council of Elders and a well-known dentist in the city. 

According to the investigation, the incident took place on July 17, in the resort area on Yerevanyan Street in Sevan. According to the Investigative Committee, Arsen Afian visited a restaurant in the recreational area. During dinner, a conflict occurred between the visitors, one of whom shot at a security officer of the resort area, and then at Arsen Afian, who died from gunshot wounds to the stomach.  The investigation has identified a 39-year-old resident of the Tavush region (D. Kh)  as one of the participants in the hooliganism. 

A criminal case has been initiated against the suspect, who is currently wanted. The preliminary investigation into the case is ongoing.  To recall that as a result of the conflict that occurred on July 17, at approximately 22:00, one person was killed and two others injured.The  medical center in Sevan received a report of three patients with gunshot wounds. Law enforcement officers first went to the hospital and then conducted investigative measures at the scene.  Cartridges and traces of blood were found in the courtyard of the restaurant where the conflict took place. The identities of the victims and the deceased have been established. It was revealed that Edgar Afian, a 41-year-old resident of Kotayk, Aghasi Aloyan, a 56-year-old resident of Gegharkunik and Arsen Afian, a 37-year-old resident of Sevan, were admitted to the hospital. Arsen Afyan passed away without regaining consciousness. The police have also identified other participants in the incident, including Levon Banduryan, the son of the crime boss Ara Banduryan.
