Armenian-Kazakh cooperation in higher education and science discussed in Astana

On July 31, 2024, a meeting was held between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Republic of Kazakhstan Armen Ghevondyan and the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek. This was reported on the social network page of the Armenian Embassy in Kazakhstan.
At the meeting, Minister S. Nurbek presented in detail the progress of reforms being implemented in the science and higher education system of Kazakhstan, which also involve the transformation of regional state universities into research centers with international educational standards.
Ambassador A. Ghevondyan was acquainted with the mechanisms of state support for the process of establishing branches of foreign universities in Kazakhstan and plans to establish the country as a regional educational hub.
In the context of promoting Armenian-Kazakhstani specialized cooperation, a number of issues related to joint applied research in a range of scientific areas of mutual interest were discussed. Issues of deepening inter-university cooperation, including the popularization of the Armenian language, history and culture, were also touched upon. Following the discussions, subsequent steps aimed at implementing the agreements reached were agreed upon.
