Hyundai Motor India Foundation Invests in Young Athletes with Sports Lab Expansion
Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the corporate social responsibility arm of Hyundai Motor India Limited, has announced a significant investment in sports development through the expansion of its flagship program, Sports Lab.
This expansion is marked by the inauguration of a state-of-the-art “Sports Lab Fitness Centre” in Hisar, Haryana. This center aims to provide young athletes with top-notch training facilities and expert guidance to elevate their physical fitness and overall performance.
Focus on Grassroots Development
The Sports Lab initiative aligns with Hyundai’s global vision of “Progress for Humanity.” It goes beyond simply fostering medal winners by creating a holistic support system for young athletes. HMIF aims to nurture a generation of healthy, confident individuals who can pursue sports as a viable career option and leave their mark on the world.
Equipped for Success
The newly established Sports Lab Fitness Centre features cutting-edge equipment and certified trainers. This space caters to the diverse needs of athletes across various sports disciplines, providing specialized therapies and sports injury rehabilitation programs.
Official Launch with Renowned Guest
The program launch ceremony was graced by the presence of Ms. Saina Nehwal, the celebrated badminton player and Olympic medalist. Ms. Nehwal’s presence served as a source of inspiration for the young athletes in attendance. She emphasized the importance of access to proper coaching and resources for aspiring athletes, highlighting the crucial role of HMIF’s Sports Lab initiative.
Program Expansion and Collaboration
The event also marked the expansion of the Sports Lab project into Jind, Haryana, and Mansa, Punjab. Launched in 2022 with Roots Foundation as a partner, the initiative focuses on identifying and nurturing young talent at the grassroots level.
Building a Sustainable Ecosystem
HMIF, in collaboration with local schools, sports clubs, federations, and government bodies, aims to build a robust and sustainable ecosystem that fosters athletic development and excellence in India. With this commitment, the Sports Lab program is poised to empower young athletes across the country.
