In Kabir Singh, Kiara plays Pretty, a quiet, submissive girlfriend to Shahid Kapoor's Kabir. The movie received polarising opinions due to its portrayal of relationships and physical abuse. Even today, the Shahid and Kiara starrer often comes up in discussions on social media platforms. Many believe the movie glorifies abusive relationships. Further, it also shows how Shahid's character goes into complete self-destruction mode due to heartbreak.

In an interview with Pinkvilla in 2019, the Good Newwz actress was asked if, like Kabir Singh, she had gone through a phase of self-destruction in real life. Kiara Advani told the portal that, like many others, she has been there too. There were days she didn't feel like getting out of bed and wanted to stay in. Her friends advised her to leave the bed and refrain from crying over anyone. Advani added that it is okay to cry and let it out, but one should move on and allow other people in.

In the same interview, Kiara Advani opened up about being in love only once back then. The MS Dhoni actress said that it was the only proper and long relationship she had as they grew up together. At that time, Kiara revealed that she was still friends with the person. At that time, Kiara also dismissed the reports that she was dating Sidharth Malhotra. However, when quizzed if she would date an actor, Kiara answered 'never say never'. The actress didn't want to say anything because she believed she might meet someone in the industry later.

Well, what Kiara Advani said became true, and she is now married to Sidharth Malhotra. The duo tied the knot in a lavish wedding ceremony in 2023 at Rajasthan's Suryagarh Palace. Before their marriage, the couple worked together in Shershaah (2021).
