Varun Dhawan's father, David Dhawan, revealed that when the actor returned to India after finishing his studies, he showed interest in movies. The Badlapur star told Karan Johar that he wants to assist him in movies. It was cameraman Ravi Chandran who told Karan to notice Varun and helped him realise his potential. Karan then told David that he wanted to cast Varun in his movie.
About the same, David Dhawan opened up on Arbaaz Khan's show, The Invincibles 2. David recalled how Karan Johar once came home and introduced Sidharth to him. There was a photo session with Sidharth and Varun Dhawan, and they both looked young and vibrant. As the film production commenced, David observed that his son had previously shown signs of emotional distress. Acknowledging the challenges of two-hero films, David encouraged Varun by making him feel confident and advising him to take bold steps towards success. He fondly remembered the film's release and how Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan sent a message praising Sidharth as a "long-race horse." Subsequently, many people suggested that Varun also needed a break from him.
Last year, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra appeared together on Karan Johar's Koffee With Karan Season 8. After a long time, the duo was seen together on screen. We wonder what both actors have to say about David's revelations.
