Armenia`s premier to attend inauguration of Iranian president

ArmInfo. The Armenian delegation, headed by RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, left for a working visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran on July 30.

According to the press secretary of the RA Prime Minister Nazeli Baghdasaryan, in Tehran, the head of the Armenian government will meet with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and take part in the official inauguration ceremony of the Iranian president.

The inauguration ceremony of the Iranian president will take place on July 30. On July 28, the leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, officially approved Masoud Pezeshkian as the president of the IRI.

Pezeshkian was elected president in the second round of snap elections, which were called in connection with the death of the previous president Ibrahim Raisi in a plane crash in May 2024. Masoud Pezeshkian is a cardiac surgeon by training, a former health minister and a member of the Iranian parliament. His opponent in the second round was ultra-conservative candidate Saeed Jalili.
