Housing programme in Armenia`s border regions suspended
ArmInfo. The Ministry of Social Affairs of Armenia responded to the information circulated in the media that the government prematurely terminated the state program to ensure affordable housing in the country's border villages.
Thus, the press secretary of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia Zara Manucharyan reported that there are a large number of applications within the framework of the state support program for providing housing in border rural areas.
"At the moment, the Unified Social Service of the Ministry has approved 1,797 applications, of which 1,517 in 2024 alone (while it was planned to cover 560 beneficiaries this year). About 255 more applications have been received and are being studied by partner banks within the framework of the project," Manucharyan noted. At the same time, she recalled that, as previously announced and determined by government decree, after 2,000 applications have been satisfied, the program will take a break, which will provide an opportunity to study the existing picture, analyze goals, problems, and evaluate the results.
"Based on the results of the research, a decision will be made to continue the project either with modifications, changes, or under the same conditions," she summed up.
