Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Collection: Prabhas to beat Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan record soon?
Kalki 2898 AD was released in theatres on June 27, 2024. It will almost be a month since the science fiction mythological drama hit the theatres. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film stars Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan. The movie received rave reviews from the audience and critics alike. It is cited as one of the biggest hits of 2024.

In terms of box office collections, the Prabhas starrer has collected Rs 620.35 crores in 27 days in India. As reported by Sacnilk, the movie might soon surpass the lifetime business of Shah Rukh Khan's 2023 film Jawan, which earned Rs 640.25 crores. Directed by Atlee, the film also stars Deepika Padukone, Nayanthara, Sanya Malhotra, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Sunil Grover and others. For the past few days, Nag Ashwin's sci-fi mythological dystopian drama, Kalki 2898 AD, has slowed down with its collection.
The report mentioned that the film opened with only Rs 1.65 crore on Monday. In the fourth week, the weekend collection was only Rs 17.4 crore. There's a noticeable drop in Kalki 2898 AD's collection. On Tuesday, the Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone starrer earned Rs 1.85 crore, thus bringing the total to Rs 620.35 crore. Thus, it is just 19.9 crores away from breaking SRK's record for Jawan.
Furthermore, the Prabhas starrer might not be able to surpass Jawan's worldwide box office collection. Shah Rukh Khan's film had a worldwide business of Rs 1160 crore, whereas Kalki 2898 AD has so far earned 1004.7 crores. It still has to earn Rs 160 crore globally to be able to break the record of Atlee's movie, which seems tough. Now that Marvel's Deadpool & Wolverine is also releasing in theatres this week, it seems trickier.
