RA Foreign Minister: We have healthy dialogue with Turkiye, and we are making progress
ArmInfo.Armenia is ready to fully normalize relations with Turkey and establish diplomatic relations with it. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated at a briefing in Tbilisi, as reported by Sputnik Georgia.
"Armenia is ready to fully normalize relations with Turkiye and also establish diplomatic relations. We also have agreements in connection with this vision, and we are making progress. We have a healthy dialogue with Turkiye, and we know that it is high time for that (to normalize relations, ed. note)," Mirzoyan said. There are no diplomatic relations between Turkiye and Armenia, the border has been closed since 1993 on Ankara's initiative. The complicated relations between the countries are caused by a number of circumstances, in particular, Ankara's support for the Azerbaijani position on the Karabakh issue and Turkiye's sharp reaction to the process of international recognition of the 1915 Armenian genocide in the Ottoman Empire.
