ArmInfo. The press secretary of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied the meeting of the special  representatives of Armenia Ruben Rubinyan and Turkey Serdar Kilic on July 2 at the Margara border checkpoint.

"When an agreement is reached on the date of the meeting of special  representatives on the normalization of relations between Armenia and  Turkey, the public will be informed about this," noted the press  secretary of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ani Badalyan.

The launch of the process of normalization of relations between  Yerevan and Ankara was announced on December 13, 2021 by Turkish  Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu. At the same time, he emphasized  that Ankara will act in coordination with Azerbaijan regarding steps  to normalize relations with Armenia. After this, special  representatives of the two countries on this issue were appointed -  Vice-Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Ruben Rubinyan and  Ambassador of Turkey Serdar Kilic, who held 4 meetings.

The last meeting took place on July 1, 2022 in Vienna. At that  meeting, the parties agreed to open the land border to citizens of  third countries as soon as possible. However, during this period the  border was opened once, and only for trucks on which the Armenian  government sent humanitarian aid to victims of the earthquake in  Turkey. No other visible progress has been registered in  Armenian-Turkish relations since 2022. On the sidelines of the 2024  international diplomatic forum in Antalya, Turkey's Special  Representative for regulating relations with Armenia Serdar Kilic  proposed holding another meeting with the Armenian side in Yerevan.  Rubinyan promised to think about it.
