US Ambassador: We will renew our strategic dialogue with Armenia, and  it will become strategic partnership

ArmInfo.In the coming years, we will renew our strategic dialogue with Armenia, and it will become a  strategic partnership. US Ambassador to Armenia  Kristina Kvien  stated during her speech at the annual Armenian Forum for Democracy. "This will strengthen Armenia's sovereignty," she emphasized.

Highly appreciating the development of democratic processes in our  country in the context of the dissemination of democratic ideas, the  diplomat noted that civil society played a major role in this matter.   Ambassador Kvien stated that Armenia's commitment to a democratic  future serves as an example for the whole world. "The United States  is proud to assist Armenia in these efforts, in the energy sector, in  the trade sector, etc. I am truly proud of the work that is being  done to strengthen democracy and ensure the protection of human  rights," the Ambassador said.

Quoting US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, she noted that  democracy is the only effective tool for realizing human potential.

Ambassador Kvien also added that the United States is assisting  Armenia in the fight against corruption, reforming the security  forces, holding fair elections, and ensuring media freedom.   "Democracy requires constant commitment, and we are working together  to overcome challenges and build a world where democracy will  thrive," she emphasized.

Notably, the forum is being held at the initiative of Freedom House  and the Union of Informed Citizen NGO. The goal of the forum is to  bring together all stakeholders in the promotion of democracy in  Armenia to discuss ongoing reforms and existing challenges.
