She has been a part of many top TV shows and is now seen as Vidya Poddar in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. She was married to Alok Ulfat for a long time and they got divorced in 2017. They have a son, Ojasya and they both have been co-parenting him.

Shruti recently spoke to Etimes about her separation. She said that she and Alok are better friends now and she has spent a beautiful time with him. But she feels that some things come your way which are unwanted. She feels it might better to live that way. However, Alok and Shruti keep visiting each other's house and their son, Ojasya is also shuffling between mom and dad's house.

She shared that Alok stays just opposite of her building and they are cordial. She said that they discuss everything about Ojasya and go for movies and have coffee time together with their son. She also said that she has never stopped her son from meeting his father any day. She also revealed that they had a boys trip to England and Sweden as well.
