Davutoglu: Turkiye should quickly regulate its relations with Armenia
ArmInfo. Türkiye should quickly regulate its relations with Armenia. Head of the "Happiness" party, former Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu stated during his speech at a meeting of his party with the united parliamentary faction of the "Future" parties, in the context of the Armenian-Turkish settlement process, as well as recent regional developments.
""Borders and embassies should be mutually open, and the fire of the Middle East should not spread in the Caucasus," he said, Region Monitor reports.
Referring to the tragic incident that happened to the Iranian President, Davutoglu stressed: "If there is a reason for the accident with this Iranian President, I want it to be revealed, because nothing happens by accident in the Middle East. Yesterday I visited the embassy and expressed my condolences. I don't like conspiracy theories, but Turkiye must act very wisely to prevent the fire of the Middle East from spreading to the Caucasus."
Notably, Turkiye links the normalization of relations between Yerevan and Ankara with the Azerbaijani- Armenian normalization.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, speaking at a meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Countries, announced his country's readiness to continue to support Azerbaijan to conclude a peace treaty with Armenia. At the same time, he welcomed the agreements reached at the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia, Jeyhun Bayramov and Ararat Mirzoyan, in Almaty on May 11.
"The conclusion of a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia will have a positive impact not only for the two countries, but also for the entire region," Fidan noted.
