Actor Jason Shah who played the role of British cop Alistair Cartwright in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar recently spoke his heart out about performing brutal scenes of sexual and physical assault with co-star Manisha Koirala's Mallikajaan. The handsome actor had to shoot a disturbing climax wherein he and his team of cops were seen performing sexual and physical assault on Mallikajaan.

In an interview, Jason shared the behind-the-scenes details of shooting the scene and talked about how he had to be measured and precise as he had to slap Mallikajaan. Jason told Filmibeat OTT, that he was hesitant and the fighter master wanted him to slap her realistically. But, he had to be careful as he was watching his actions. He even said that he flicked her nose ring off in one scene as it got that close. Jason said that he told the fight master that if they were not on coordination, then he might end up hurting her, and he had to be careful as she is an older woman.

Manisha who had earlier worked with Bhansali in Khamoshi: The Musical, reunited with him after 28 years for this web series. Manisha in a conversation with Indianexpress.com, said that everyone tried to do their best as they were working with a master. She even said that she has grown as an artist seeing him as a maestro, genius, and greatest filmmaker in India. She even said that they are lucky to be working, sweating and trying to perfect with their act.

Well, the series faced several criticisms for the storyline and netizens even accused it of showing wrong history. Heeramandi features Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Sharmin Segal, Aditi Rao Hydari and Richa Chadha. It is a story about courtesans from Lahore and the power struggle between them.
