Tavush for the Motherland movement heads for Yerevan
ArmInfo. The "Tavush for the Motherland" movement, led by the Primate of the Tavush Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan from Abovyan, moved towards Yerevan, where a public rally is planned on Republic Square at 4:00pm.
Before the start of the procession, Bagrat Galstanyan congratulated everyone on the occasion of the triple holiday, which was stolen from the Armenian people. "It is because of who stole this triple holiday from us that we are on the street today," he noted.
The clergyman called on the participants in the procession to behave with dignity, not to smoke, not to shout, and to strictly follow commands, to behave with dignity. After the prayer, the procession began its movement from Abovyan to Yerevan. The march participants wore white T-shirts with images of the guys who gave their lives in the name of the Motherland during the 44-day war and after it.
On May 4, a procession to Yerevan started from the village of Kirants. Citizens demand that the Armenian authorities abandon the policy of unilateral concessions to Azerbaijan. Bagrat Galstanyan noted that on May 9 by noon the movement will arrive in Yerevan and present specific demands to the Armenian authorities. Today, from the outskirts of the village of Solak, Kotayk region of Armenia, the "Tavush for the Motherland" movement continued its march to Yerevan. The action was joined by numerous opposition political forces of various geopolitical orientations, public figures, people of science and art, as well as diaspora organizations.
The movement opposes unilateral concessions by the Armenian authorities within the framework of the process of delimiting the state border with Azerbaijan.
