‘Joint Employment’ Guidance Spells More Liability for Businesses, Lawyers Say

The U.S. Department of Labor says its new guidance for figuring out when workers can be deemed "jointly" employed by two businesses isn't a policy change. But employment lawyers are warning their clients that the agency's view on the law could put them at greater risk for minimum wage and overtime violations.
