North Carolinians forewarned: Another winter storm incoming

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Forecasters warned residents of North Carolina on Wednesday to brace for what it calls a significant winter storm that could dump snow, sleet and ice and make driving hazardous.

The forecast said the worst conditions are expected along and north of the Interstate 85 corridor, adding any subtle shifts in the storm track could have implications on what type of precipitation falls and how much falls.

In Winston-Salem, grocery store parking lots were crowded with shoppers stocking up.

At a nearby hardware store, people snapped up shovels, sleds and ice melt.
