The cult of force and confrontation must give way to cooperation - Tokayev at the “SCO Plus” summit

Tengrinews.kz — President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev attended the "SCO Plus" summit, citing the Akorda press service.
Addressing the summit participants, the President highlighted the high efficiency of Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship of the SCO.

"Kyrgyzstan has developed a substantive agenda, consolidating our efforts and proposals under the motto 'Together Toward Sustainable Peace, Development, and Prosperity.' I am confident that the outcomes of the Bishkek summit will provide fresh impetus for achieving our shared goals and reinforce the Shanghai Cooperation Organization as one of the vital pillars for ensuring stability across Eurasia," the Head of State declared.

In his speech, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev identified a shared strategic objective: the formation of a world order where the cult of force and confrontation gives way to mutual responsibility, joint development, and long-term cooperation.
"The SCO's extensive experience convincingly proves that the 'Shanghai spirit' serves as an exemplary model for such international engagement. The principles of equality and consensus within our Organization have rightfully become the 'gold standard' for the successful development of multilateral cooperation and genuine multilateralism. Therefore, I propose codifying the key principles of the SCO in a special UN General Assembly resolution for the International Day of Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace," the President said.
Earlier, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev participated in a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states, which is being held in Kyrgyzstan.
