Kazhydromet warned residents of Almaty and two other cities

Tengrinews.kz — Kazhydromet has issued a weather warning for residents of Almaty and two other cities.
The alert concerns the air quality forecast for Thursday.

"On August 27, unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in Almaty, Aktobe, and overnight in Atyrau," the statement reads.

Adverse meteorological conditions referring to air pollution are a combination of short-term weather factors (calm winds, light breezes, fog, and temperature inversions) that facilitate the accumulation of harmful pollutants in the surface layer of the atmosphere.
According to meteorologists, Almaty will see variable cloudiness with no precipitation. Winds will be northeasterly at 3-8 meters per second. Overnight temperatures will range from 14-16°C, with daytime highs reaching 30-32°C.
Aktobe is expected to have variable cloudiness and no rain. Winds will be northwesterly at 7-12 meters per second. Temperatures will be 12-14°C at night and 25-27°C during the day.
Atyrau will be partly cloudy with no precipitation. Northerly winds are expected at 1-6 meters per second at night, increasing to 6-11 meters per second during the day. Temperatures will range from 16-18°C at night to 29-31°C during the day.
