“Head of an authoritative state”: Sultan of Oman accepts Tokayev’s invitation

Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a telephone conversation with Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said.
During the conversation, the President of Kazakhstan discussed the current situation in the Middle East with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, expressing firm support for Oman and solidarity with its brotherly people during this difficult period.

"The President expressed concern over air attacks on civilian infrastructure in Gulf countries not participating in the war against Iran. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that Kazakhstan consistently advocates for de-escalation and calls on the parties to seek ways to resolve the conflict through dialogue and diplomacy," Akorda said in a statement.

In this context, the President noted Oman’s high international standing as a state actively engaged in peacekeeping efforts in the region.

"The Head of State expressed special gratitude to Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said for his personal assistance in evacuating Kazakh citizens from the region through the territory of his country. In turn, the Sultan of Oman thanked the Head of our State for the words of support and conveyed his best wishes to the people of Kazakhstan during the holy month of Ramadan," the Akorda press service noted.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev reaffirmed his previously extended invitation to the Sultan of Oman to pay a state visit to Kazakhstan by the end of this year.

"This event will be of great importance in achieving a new quality in the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries. Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said stated that he accepts the invitation from the leader of a state that is authoritative in the international community," the statement said.

Tokayev expresses support to UAE leader after Iran’s military attack
On March 1, the President of Kazakhstan also held a telephone conversation with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed concern over the escalation of the situation in the Middle East. He conveyed sincere respect, support, and solidarity to the UAE leader and noted with regret that civilian infrastructure had been damaged during the military attack on the UAE.
President Tokayev emphasized that attacks on civilian facilities in the UAE, as well as in other Gulf countries, deserve strong condemnation. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan highly appreciated Kazakhstan’s support and expressed gratitude for the country’s readiness to provide possible assistance in overcoming the current international crisis.
On March 2, President Tokayev held a telephone conversation with the King of Bahrain. During the discussion of the situation in the Middle East with Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed support and solidarity with the brotherly people of Bahrain during this difficult period.
The interlocutors reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening Kazakh-Bahraini relations of friendship and partnership and wished the brotherly peoples of the two countries peace, prosperity, and well-being during the holy month of Ramadan.
