Arctic cold with temperatures down to -40°C heading to Kazakhstan
Tengrinews.kz – Kazhydromet forecasters have released the weather outlook for February 24–26, warning of a powerful Arctic cold wave moving into Kazakhstan.

According to meteorologists, a northwestern cold anticyclone will dominate most of the country, bringing an end to precipitation and a sharp drop in temperatures as Arctic air masses arrive.
“Only southern regions are expected to see precipitation, at times heavy, mainly in the form of rain. Strong winds, icy conditions and fog are also forecast,” weather experts said.
Temperatures to plunge
Nighttime temperatures are expected to fall significantly across the country:
In western regions: from -15°C to -25°C
In northern and central regions: down to -28°C to -37°CIn eastern regions: from -32°C to -40°C
In southern regions: from 0°C to -10°C
Forecasters warn that the most intense cold will affect the north, center and east of Kazakhstan, with extreme frost expected in some areas.
